Palma International Boat Show

Updated: Jan 5

Next Thursday we'll be at the Palma International Boat Show (PIBS).

HY-Plug will be present in one of the corners of the Palma Superyacht Village. The event runs from April 27 to 30, 2023.

Camille Lopez, our founder, will also be taking part in a round-table discussion.

"The Palma International Boat Show and Palma Superyacht Village will return bigger and better in 2023. The eagerly awaited event will take place in the Moll Vell marina in Palma, Mallorca, from April 27 to 30, 2023.

Located in Palma, one of Europe's sailing capitals, the PIBS will host an unrivalled pedigree of yachts in the Palma Superyacht Village, featuring yachts from 24 meters to 55 meters. At this year's PIBS, there are more yachts available for charter in the Superyacht Village than ever before, as brokers cater to an ever-growing clientele who want to spend their vacations on the water. "Customers come not only to enjoy the boat show atmosphere, but also to buy," explains Arne Ploch, General Manager of Palma Superyacht Village.

"Holding the PIBS in the spring is an excellent opportunity for buyers, they can potentially sign a contract right after the show in May and a month later be on the water enjoying the Mediterranean season to the full aboard their new vessel, it's a unique and very attractive prospect. More brokers than ever will be presenting their boats and meeting their customers at the Palma Superyacht Village".

A key event in the superyacht industry calendar, PIBS is where industry professionals converge from all over the world to meet, network, collaborate and exchange ideas. As Arne Ploch points out: "The show, organized by the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association, will be the ideal platform for introducing newcomers to yachting, while covering all the services an experienced owner is looking for: it's a show organized by the industry, for the industry".

The PIBS will host a wide selection of exhibitors ashore, featuring both local and international companies, as well as the ever-popular PSV Refit & Repair zone, which this year is sponsored by a new brand partner, Spanish brewery Estrella Galicia.

This year, the Superyacht Village adds a new space, the Innovation Corner, created in collaboration with Yachting Ventures, a community of yachting entrepreneurs. The Innovation Corner will provide a space for yachting start-ups to showcase their new technologies and promote dialogue between young companies and the wider yachting industry.

Commenting on the partnership, Arne Ploch said, "We are delighted to announce that the Innovation Corner, a new initiative in collaboration with Yachting Ventures and the Palma Superyacht Village, will be showcased at the 2023 edition of the Palma Boat Show."

"As an island, we understand the yachting industry's huge contribution to our economy and recognize the importance of staying innovative. We look forward to meeting the selected start-ups participating in the Innovation Corner and offering them the opportunity to showcase their products and services to PIBS visitors this year," continued Ploch.

Gabbi Richardson, founder of Yachting Ventures, commented on the partnership: "We are delighted to offer start-ups the opportunity to showcase their solutions to the industry by participating in the first Innovation Corner at PIBS. There's always a real buzz at this show, and I grew up in Mallorca, so this event is personally one of my favorites in the yachting calendar. It marks the start of summer in the Mediterranean, and is particularly important because it brings together yachts and boats of all sizes.

"The setting for PIBS is spectacular," said Arne Ploch. "In the heart of the beautiful city of Palma, surrounded by amenities, luxury hotels and world-class restaurants, in the spring sunshine, with customers coming from all over Europe and beyond, it's a great time and a great way to start the summer.

PSV organizers have paid close attention to every organizational detail to make the event educational and enjoyable for visitors. Majorca resident and Michelin-starred chef Marc Fosh and his team will once again bring the Fosh Lounge to the Superyacht Village for delectable bites and refreshments in a luxurious setting, this year in collaboration with Bentley Barcelona. Tast Out Catering will be offering local cuisine for the duration of the show."
