Why HY-Plug and Heeding are joining forces to accelerate the energy transition.

Faced with the growing challenges of decarbonization , this strategic collaboration illustrates the desire to structure sustainable solutions, by combining technological expertise, knowledge of the field and new financing models.

They are called Heeding Climate Solutions and HY-Plug and have decided to cooperate to decarbonize the maritime sector.

At Heeding Climate Solutions and HY-Plug, strength lies in unity when it comes to decarbonizing heavy, complex, and high-emitting sectors. On one side, Heeding Climate Solutions , a Sophia Antipolis-based startup, develops a smart platform for identifying and purchasing sustainable fuels. On the other, HY-Plug focuses on consulting and port operations. Then , in the fall of 2025, their paths crossed. "We had been following HY-Plug and its founder, Camille Lopez, for a few months," explains Cédric Choel, co-founder of the Alpes-Maritimes-based company with Bruno Arcaleni. "We share the same desire to help companies, particularly in the maritime and port sectors, find easier ways to decarbonize […] Let's work together to bring our solution to a market that Camille Lopez knows well," the executive summarizes.

Because while Heeding Climate Solutions already operates in road transport, construction, and industry, "the maritime component was missing." A strategic gap, given how difficult the sector is to decarbonize. The result? A collaboration , not a merger, but with a clear rationale: Camille Lopez, who had wanted to develop a solution similar to Heeding Climate Solutions' for several years, joins the board of the Sophia Antipolis-based company. The shared objective: " to combine forces to act on the decarbonization of the maritime sector and ports." In concrete terms, HY-Plug brings its knowledge of the field, the stakeholders, and the constraints of the maritime sector, while Heeding provides the technological building block with its platform. All of this is rooted in the Mediterranean, between the PACA region and Monaco, where HY-Plug has a home port in addition to Six-Fours-les-Plages (83).

An acceleration on all fronts

Meanwhile, Heeding Climate Solutions continues to accelerate its growth. Founded in late 2024 in Sophia Antipolis, the startup is still structuring its development around its B2B platform, which allows companies to compare, choose, and secure the use of sustainable fuels. Since late 2025, the company has been strengthening its organization. Two pillars are emerging : a "tech center" to develop the platform, and a "customer center" dedicated to business development and customer relations. The team has grown from four to nine people in just seven months, and a fundraising round exceeding one million euros is being prepared to support growth through the end of 2026.

On the ground, the first results are in. Around fifty companies are already using the smart platform that automates the fuel procurement process, from connecting suppliers via AI to blockchain-based traceability. "With the current energy crisis, we're enabling road haulers to manage their costs and buy at the right time to minimize their energy impact," explains Cédric Choel. In parallel, the company continues to work with its regional pilot project, "Sud Decarb," to help economic players decarbonize one million tons of carbon dioxide by 2035.
